YWCA Greater Austin is on a mission to eliminate racism, empower women, stand up for social justice, help families and strengthen communities.
The Generation YW Program offers resiliency classes, which focus on social, emotional, intellectual, and physical well-being to youth ages 11-18 in AISD schools. The GenYW Empowered Scholar Award is a monetary award offered annually, the program also provides mentorship and guidance to its recipients.
The purpose of this scholarship award is to assist underserved students who, in the absence of scholarship support, are unable to continue their higher education and/or post high school training in institutions of post-secondary education. YWCA Greater Austin, through initial and continuing support, created the scholarship award to assist with the cost of tuition and books. The scholarship is awarded annually through the Generation YW Program of the YWCA Greater Austin to a high school female student.
Deadline is Friday, April 15, at midnight.
